One word: Night-Drives

The dark cloud hath descendeth.
Having trouble holding my shit together again.
So I've taken back up an old past time of mine, problem is it's too bloody expensive to do it properly anymore. I love the night drives.
As someone who started her driving career at a time when she worked in one place and lived over an hour away for uni. I would drive home late fridays and back late sundays every weekend for 8 months. I got used to long drives at night and I love it. Nothing like tearing along with music pumped and screaming level, in a tempreture controlled environment surrounded by blackness and your own headlights. Also driving through town with all the lights and neon feels surreal.
Theres no cars on the road and no people on the street.
It's great for clearing the head either as a distraction or for contemplation.
Unfortunately since driving aimlessly is just a by-product of my over indulgent western existance, I shouldnt really complain that THE MAN is making it too expensive to do.
Living back in the family home just gets too oppressive sometimes. The reminder of what I had and now dont is still too fresh. Some nights I just start climbing the basement walls and need to get out. Driving is a lot safer than going for a walk, late at night, in the dirty burbs.
So I'm limiting myself to no more than one night-drive a week and to have a destination where I sit, scream along to music and clear my head. Then drive home.
If anyone I know finds they are up for a night-drive one evening
let me know!
I'll come get ya and we will drive together! You can even drink!
