The Exhibition

The post I was writing got ridiculously long, so I'm breaking it up into bits!
This is the exhibition bit.
I went to the VIP opening night, the Public Opening Night and the Auction.
The VIP opening was smaller than I expected but gave me a chance to really check out everyones work and pricing. Its hard to work out what people will pay while not undervaluing your work.

With my display --

And heres the good news --

Of the 13 paintings I had on display all but 6 are now the property of other people. Some were claimed before the exhibition started, admittedly, but some were not. I'm really pleased and take it as encouragement to continue with what I'm doing.

The public opening was packed out and Id like to thank everyone that came and checked it out and an extra big thank you to those who purchased things. Your INCREDIBLY COOL! Despite the venue being incredibly hot. The place has bad enough ventilation on a good day but with all those people there it was almost unbearable. All the money from door takings is going toward purchasing fans and proper air conditioning.

The auction, which happens on the last night of each exhibition was actually quite a dismal failure. Deciding to go ahead on Good Friday was a mistake and no-one turned up. Well a few rad people like myself did but we weren't enough to make it a fair evening for the works being auctioned off.
Fingers crossed it works out better next time.

I have begun work on things for the next exhibition and foresee a lot of work ahead. Carnivale opens on the 20th of April. Ill keep you posted with information.

Work has begun on a proper portfolio site for these paintings and my photos.
I eventually hope to have things available for sale on there too.

and thats the artwork update for now
